Moulinot compost & biogas
is the official biowaste collector for COP21.
“We expect to collect 45 tons of waste during the COP21 with a recovery aim of 70%. The majority of this waste will be recovered by AD but a 5-ton container will be specifically dedicated to the experimental project with Semardel
“, explains Stefan Martinez, le patron de Moulinot compost & biogas.
For this operation, food waste produced by the COP21 will be depackaged with FLEXIDRY
, the machine developed by Green CREATIVE that separates organic waste from its packaging and other unwanted material. Once cleaned, this biowaste will be recovered by SEMARDEL
, on the Vert-le-Grand (91) Ecosite, by a vermicomposting process that will take several months. The objective of this original experiment is twofold:
- Produce an attractive high-quality agronomic compost for the agricultural world.
- Validate for the first time this biowaste recovery process by vermicomposting, on an industrial scale.
Before the start of COP21 and its first collections, the partnership has already achieved encouraging tests since late October, on 12-ton windrows of depackaged biowaste and green waste, at Semardel Vert-le-Grand (91)’s recovery center.
